The study did not say that the gel cut a woman’s risk of HIV infection from 54% to 39%! The Tenofovir study showed that if used properly and consistently, the gel reduced a woman's chance of contracting HIV by 54%, and in the majority of cases (where there was only partial compliance), the gel reduced a woman's chance of contracting the virus by 39%. This info is not correct. The study did not say that
