Melorheostosis:Matt Big Brother Revelation
Melorheostosis is a rare medical condition where the cortex of the bone becomes wider than normal.
The condition can be easily diagnosed using X-Rays, and is very common in certain types of people. The Cortex may appear to look like dripping candle wax on the X-Ray, sliding off of the bone. It is just abnormal growth of the area.
It may also cause hyper-pigmentation appearing on the bone in the X-Ray, which makes it even easier for technicians to spot.
It tends to only affect one limb at a time, but in some rare cases does affect more than one limb. This can cause a number of problems for the individual. Sometimes Melorheostosis even affects the ribs, which is especially painful. Melorheostosis is known to affect the spine on occasion, but reports of that are fairly rare.
The condition causes severe pain, physical deformity and skin problems. If the growth is very large, it can cause circulation problems. For the worst cases, amputation must be considered if the patient would like to continue to live a normal life. The condition grows worse over time, and often can start out of nowhere.
The condition is often associated with osteosclerosis.
Melorheostosis is on the news lately because a contestant on CBS hit reality show Big Brother 12 named Matt, revealed that his wife had the disease.

For someone to go on a show and lie about a rare disease is disgusting. This is the fault of casting, producers and network. Walk a mile in the shoes going through a rare cancer diseases.
No one makes donations from this, and he won’t, just like Adam season 9 of BB 9 (now going to prison for RX drugs).
Producers casted Kathy for a reason, because she is a cancer survivor. What a slap in the face to allow this!

Don’t worry let him lie, it will bite him in the ass at the end. Anyone who makes it to the finals would be foolish to keep Matt, especially as the final two. I feel they wouldn’t keep him to the end in fear of him winning on sympathy votes alone. He didn’t consider that and it will hurt him, no doubt!

The “Mensa” you and I know, has to do with top % of IQ value. If you go back to one of his bios, you’ll read that he belongs to an Italian/American social club by the name of “Mensa-Mia”. He uses a little literary license by dropping the “mia”!!

I had never heard of it before…. thought he was making it up then heard him say his wife didn’t have it. I still felt obliged to find out about it. Don’t be wishing karma on him for something like that. He said it with hope of winning 500k. He also said he will be making a sizeable donation with part of it. Lets hope he does and we don’t lose focus…. of beating the freakin cancer.
But it would have made more sense if he said he was playing for people with the disease. Matt is not as smart as he claims to be. It won’t be long until one or more HG catch on this lie

Only a depraved mind would make up a disease for sympathy, whether it is to win money or not. He is the lowest of the lowest to do this. He has lied about everything so how can anyone believe that he is going to donate any of his winnings?

Remember, Big Brother is just a game; a game of deception and strategic manuevers. Anything said in the Big Brother setting should always be questioned by all of the house-guests, and not taken as an immediate truth. Matt is merely playing the game with hopes of making it to the end and winning the game. He did mention he would make a sizeable donation to the Melorheostosis foundation, which I sincerely hope he does.
Matt is such a loser for somebody who claims to have enough smarts. He saw what happened to natalie last season and how karma came back to bite her in the ass. Lying on your perfectly normal wife of such intense disease is really selfish; there’s no money worth the lie. I hope his wife is watching and sees what a moran he is. He used to be my fav but now he just lost a fan for that. It’s so funny how people hated nat bb 11 when she told a lie but seem to be ok with matt’s bloody lie.

Natalie told people in the house that she was lying about her age. Matt is smart enough to keep his lie to himself. That is the difference. There is no way anyone will find out that he is a big fibber until after the jury votes for a winner.

I have a master degree in physics ( and that requires lots of researh, in case you don’t know). Whether or not he lives a dignified life outside the house is really not necessary. All i’m saying is that lies like that will get him nowhere but loose every respect the fans had for him. This pains me because i have a nephew with that exact disease and it’s not a small thing, nothing compares to the description above. Matt’s main problem is the fact that he first told Andrew of his wife’s “disease”, not knowing that Andrew is also hiding his true profession. Andrew is a podiatrist and Matt better hope that he doesn’t ask too many questions.
Andrew already said in the diary room that he knows Matts full of s it. I also question that Andrew is a doctor,too. The only reason Andrew thinks Matt is full of s it is because he’s never even heard of that disease.

You know what I want to know as an orthopedic nurse???? How is it that this self-proclaimed “excellent podiatrist,” Andrew, has “never heard of this disease”? Especially, ESPECIALLY the fact that his knowledge is of the FEET AND ALL THAT THEY ENTAIL!!!!! I give kudos to Matt on the research he did to find a disease so rare that the average “joe” has never heard of! It’s a game people…. The ONLY thing I WILL be upset about is if he doesn’t live up to his commitment of donating to the research as this is a very serious and extremely painful disease.
