Black Parents with White Baby:Nmachi Ihegboro
A black couple was surprised when their baby was born white, with blue eyes and blonde hair. Britain’s Nmachi Ihegboro shocked genetics experts after testing revealed that the baby is not an albino.
The father of the baby, Ben, 44, said that the two of them just sat there for a moment after the baby was born. The mother of the child, Angela, smiled and said:
“She’s beautiful – a miracle baby.”
Ben said that he was surprise when the baby was born, and even wondered if the baby was in fact his. As the family crowded around the baby, it was easy to see the similarities in the facial features. They named the baby Nmachi, which means “Beauty of God” in their homeland of Nigeria.
Neither Ben nor Angela have any mix-raced family history that they know of, but light genes from generations before could potentially explain the appearance of the child.
“My wife is true to me. Even if she hadn’t been, the baby still wouldn’t look like that,” Ben said.
The couple came to Britain from Nigeria five years ago, and said that the baby does not appear to be albino, and looks more like a healthy white baby. Ben said that his mother had fairer skin than him, but also said that he had no knowledge of any light-skinned members of his ancestry that could have caused this to happen.
Professor Bryan Sykes, the head of human genetics at Oxford University described the birth as “extraordinary.” He went on to say that it wasn’t unusual for lighter skin tones to come out in a child, but also said that the contrast between the parents and the child was highly unusual.

You don’t know about what you’re talking. The way you constructed your statement makes that obvious enough, but tell me, what do you know about genes? This is very possible and not even that complicated. One of the parents has recessive genea somewhere in their ancestry.
Genes go a long way they didnt jus arrive when you were born. Did you know that slaves mated with slave owners and possibly the gene came out there

It has happened to white couple twice. They had to black children and there oldest wasn’t allowed to go to school with the other white children. So this has happened before.
I find it very disturbing for someone to say “It would never happen to a white couple”. Does Yakub know who the Architect of creation is? Why wouldn’t it happen to a white couple? What does he suspect happened here? God is still in the business of creating and whenever He commands things to happen His way, they will happen, with or without genetics experts! How did this junk of a story make a way on the web? The baby is obviously Black as you can tell in the features. The baby is clearly an albino and it will become more obvious when the baby gets older.
Black genes are dominant and White genes are recessive. You can get the recessive genes from the dominant but never the dominant from thr recessive.

I’m suspicious of the slant of this article. Would a black-appearing baby to blond parents be greeted with smiles and coos of being a “gift from God”? I would hope so, but to my eyes this article seems to be operating from the assumption of white superiority.

The baby has a skin condition called “Vitiligo” There are very rare cases where people are born with no pigment at all. It is completely separate from someone being born Albino, and yes she is a miracle baby because she was born healthy, which is the only thing any parent should care about. Instead everyone is here discussing whether god is real and calling each other racist. Grow up and try to educate yourselves. Read a book for once in your lives.

I think genes and genetics were a basic topic at secondary school. Black, white ext… all colours are beautiful. It’s the spirit of a person that counts. I should know, I’m a white BLONDE. BLUE EYED lady married to a gorgeous African man= two stunning,beautiful children.
1. It is entirely possible for this baby to be genetically theirs. Situation A) There are 6 different genes known to produce skin pigments. You inherit 12 all together, 6 from mom and 6 from dad. If they each had 6 dark genes/6 light genes then it’s possible for the baby to end up with 12 light genes. Situation B) White skin is actually a mutation, so the dark genes could’ve mutated creating a white baby. Same thing with blonde hair, it’s a mutation and there’s actually people in Papua New Guinea who have a naturally occurring combination of dark skin and blonde hair (go look it up).
2. NO, the baby is not albino, nor does it have vitiligo. They already said the baby tested negative for albinism. The baby also does not have vitiligo, vitiligo is not a disease that manifests itself at birth…it occurs once the child gets older and the loss of pigment is gradual, not all at once.
3. And please try to cool it down with the whole “It’s God’s will” and “It says in the bible” stuff. Come back when you’re ready to have an educated discussion.
I’m with those who say the baby clearly has Negroid features, in particular the nose. I hope that more pictures of her surface when she is about 5 or so to see what she looks like then.
Umm, notice that no mention was made of a PATERNITY TEST. The child clearly isnt “the father’s”. She got pregnant in ENGLAND not Nigeria. Where do you think it wouyld be more likely for her to concieve a “white” baby? Probably fathered by a white neighbour in an evening of joint jungle fever. I would buy the DNA story if the childs hair was kinky like the parents, but the child looks mixed with wavy blonde hair like many of the mulattoes in the Caribbean or USA. Nigerians are so religious that the father would prefer to believe it to be a gift from god than even fathom his wifes infidelity.
